 Shri Ram Trith Mandir

Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Asthan, dedicated to Maharishi Valmiki ji is situated 11 km west of Amritsar chugwan road. As per the mythological beliefs, The temple dates back to the period of Ramayana and the place is famous for the ashram of Maharishi Valmiki. It is the place where the Valmiki gave shelter to Sita ( wife of Rama ) when she was abandoned after the Lanka Victory. The place is birthplace of lava and Kusha

The place has an ancient tank and many temples and also have well with stairs where Mata Sita used to take her bath.

This is the place where Mata Sita used to wash clothes of Love and Kush, It is believed if any women is not getting pregnant she must take bath at this place and she will definitely get pregnant. Lots of ladies takes bath at this holy place specially during the yearly fair.


One of the most popular fairs of Punjab



Just, after the night of Diwali night. The preparations start very early for the fair. The fair continues to last for five long days. The major center of attraction for the visitors is the Tank which in the sculptures as described being dug by Hanuman.

 This dip needs to completed in the early hours of the full moon night. This night is the night of Purnmashi. The pilgrims then enchant the mantras along with the salutations of “Ram Ram” just right after the completion of the dip.
